Last night I was standing in the longest line there ever was waiting to buy my very last gift of the season (every time I think I’ve bought ‘the last one’, I remember something else that I absolutely must get). I wasn’t in a rush and everyone was kind of sluggish and not the “angry standing in line” kind of people, so it was pretty bearable. About 5 minutes into the wait, the woman in front of me got on her cell phone. She started off having a normal conversation which turned into LOUD TALKING IN LINE conversation.

This is the ONE time that I did not want to hurt the person doing it.

Why? Because the story she told to the person on the other end was so worth putting up with LOUD CELL PHONE talker. I didn’t feel bad for listening because when people talk that loud on their cell phone they either a) want every one in all the land to hear what’s going on in their life or b) don’t care who hears, but also won’t complain if you listen because, hi, she was screaming.

According to her story, she was at work earlier in the day working on a couple of projects and kind of zoning everyone around her out. One of her coworkers in a cube across the way was trying to get her attention to no avail. So her coworker? Threw a dime at her. And the dime? Hit this girl in “THE LEFT EYEBALL”.

The way this girl told the story and how she kept repeating “WHO THROWS A DIME? WHAT ARE THE ODDS THAT IT HITS ME IN THE LEFT EYEBALL?” made it SO hard not to laugh.

But it gets worse! The girl? Was supposed to have lasik eye surgery today and because of her “eye trama” might have to be rescheduled.

Seriously. What are the odds?

In other news, that shopping trip was the public debut of my new hair — I got a trim and dyed it red! How festive!
