Inexplicably I have become reobsessed with The Beatles. I had a bit of a ‘thing’ for them in high school – most of my friends did at the time, so I wasn’t alone. In fact, add The Beatles to our glaringly obvious nerd status and you got a game that we played all day, everyday for most of my Junior Year: The Letter Game (I don’t know what we actually called it, but this works).

Here’s how it worked: one of us would fill a sheet of paper with what looked like nonsense words. But it was actually the first letter of every word in Beatles song titles. We’d pass the list around in between classes and compare notes at lunch.

Eventually we moved on from the Beatles to things like television shows, movies, books, other bands, but the game stayed the same.

Oh my god are you embarrased for us?

N-E-R-D-S!

Anyway, I grabbed all my Beatles CDs from my mother’s hosue last night and am importing them into my iTunes as we speak. So you play the game, see how many you can get. (Bonus points if you get the album title too).

Ready, go!

I like ‘em, but you definitely aren’t alone.

what, are we supposed to email you or pass a note?

i often re-find the beatles in spring – or young love. as i get older, though, i def. appreciate their later albums.

i really should have ripped my copy of revolver before it got scratched.

passing notes RULES. but you have to fold into one of the paper football triangles.

This game rules. I am still a nerd who loves the beatles, and I am also a bad office worker. i will be emailing you my answers shortly even though i am way too busy for this today. ;-)

VERY GOOD. The only thing you were missing was “The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill” from the White Album. And the last 4 Hs are “Hey Hey Hey Hey”.

Well done.
