So um. I am in love with Colin Hay. Like in a bad way. Like in a way that I am embarrased to even describe.
I check his site all the time to see when he’s playing. And I found out he’s going to Mohegan Sun July 13th.
But today. I found out. He’s coming. To CAMBRIDGE.
NEXT WEEKEND.
It’s for a benefit, and is pricey ($100! But it’s for the kids!). You get his new album (which is amazing, obviously), free Sam Adams booze, it’s an ACOUSTIC show, and he hangs out and signs everyone’s CD after he plays.
!!!!!!

I am going. I HAVE to. He is the love of my life.
If you are a Colin fan, and are toying with the idea of going, let me know.
If you’ve never heard Colin, shame on you! Just kidding. I’ve just been rather obsessed with him since … oh the 80s (Men at Work). But if you want to hear some of his music, check out his site ColinHay.com, go to the discography page and there are some tracks to sample. Scroll to the bottom and listen to Waiting for My Real Life to Begin or Beautiful World.
Colin got more “main stream” in recent years (so you may have heard him and not realize it) when his songs were featured in Garden State (I Just Don’t Think I’ll Ever Get Over You) and in Scrubs (I’ve never seen the show, so I’m not sure what songs have been on the show, but I guarantee they were awesome).

I have to admit, I had NO IDEA who Colin Hay was when I read your entry. Now I looked him up on Google and you have to tell me what’s so great about him ;)
I love Colin Hay. I didn’t know anyone else knew he existed. I got hooked on him after he was on Scrubs. The $100 concert is a bit much for me, but I would definitely go later in the summer!
I’ve been hooked on Colin Hay since the 80s … Men at Work (he was the lead singer San). He writes the most heart wrenching, beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. And live? He has the filthiest mouth and best stories ever.
If he plays ‘Overkill’, I think I’ll cry…
Now to make a-myself a vegemite sandwich..
Have you heard the acoustic overkill!? One of my favorites!!!
On ‘Scrubs’. Pure 80′s mushy genius.
Ahhh – so that’s what was on there! I heard he had two songs on Scrubs … any idea what the second one was?
Colin had Overkill and Waiting for My Real to Begin on Scrubs
I think they also played Beautiful World. That song, along with Waiting for My Real Life to Begin are on Colin’s album Going Somwhere
hi there anyone going to the london gig in camden on sunday?
