Even though I’m no longer in school, September still seems like an opportunity to get organized or dress up my place for the long winter ahead. And obviously I’m always on the look out for cool modern pieces for my apartment. So now I present you with a few cool pieces to make your work or living space pop without breaking the bank.

(I went with $100 because it was a nice round number and, in most cases, you can get more than one item I’m going to list.)

If you click directly on the image, it will bring you to a product page. Convenient!

Three Sheets 2 The Wind 10 x 20 Floral Wall Print – $58
These prints come in a variety of sizes and so many colors, you’re bound to find one that matches your decor. The best part? Each print is handmade which means you truly will have a unique piece of art hanging on your wall!

Blu Dot 2d:3d Wall Mount CD Rack – $99
This rack is made of metal, but get this – you fold it into shape. METAL ORAGAMI. Don’t need a CD storage rack? Hang it at an angle to create a visually interesting wall design and use it to display tealights. ROMANTIC. (if you do this, do it safely. We’re looking for AMBIANCE, not AMBULANCE.)

Blu Dot 2d:3d Letter Holder – $25
More metal oragami in colors that pop! Put this on your desk and you look hip and stay organized. For twenty five dollars. PEANUTS!

CAKE Candle Votives – $27 (set of 2)
Speaking of ambiance, nothing is more relaxing or romantic than candle light. Especially candle light housed in some pretty rad design.

CAKE Tall Candle Votives Set of two

Modern Basics Element Placemats – $20
These are some pretty fancy placemats (which also come in an avocado, grass and off white mix!). Buy a couple, buy a couple of cheap frames and you have some pretty cool modern art for your walls. Or, you know actually dress your table up with them. That would look really cool too.

Fatboy Point – $89
These things are great. Are they extra seating? An ottoman? They’re BOTH. And talk about making a room pop – they come in every color imaginable: black, gray, lavender, silver, cobalt, hot pink, lime green – the sky’s the limit.

ferm LIVING Hexagon Wall Stickers – $90
Not only do I just like the way these look online, I actually own them and have them hanging in my studio at home. I had a boring wood door that I wasn’t allowed to paint (landlord’s rules), so I got some wall stickers spent a whopping 20 minutes applying them and now I feel confident is saying I have the coolest door in the apartment. Plus they make the rest of the room look awesome.

Oh even better, I got some hook ups so uh if you like any of these how about you get some free shipping on your $50 order at Design Public.
What’s better than free? Um. Nothing.

So there you have it cheap things that I think are way cool. Now it’s your turn. Go to my comments and show me some cool cheap things I could add to my new studio which I’ve created on a tight budget (sales and craigslist are my best friends).
