They’re doing an “Evening Reading” at the Sanders Theatre on the Harvard campus on February 8th at 8pm as part of the Celebrity Series of Boston.

From the Celebrity Series website:
Sarah Vowell and David Rakoff
Celebrity Series Debut!
Friday, February 8, 8pm, Sanders TheatreHumorist and author David Rakoff knows ” …the incantatory power of a story well-told, the art of keeping words aloft like the bubbles in a champagne flute.” Best-selling author Sarah Vowell has written about everything from the Cherokee Trail of Tears and presidential libraries, to her father’s homemade cannon and her own goth makeover. Regular contributors to Public Radio International’s This American Life, both Vowell and Rakoff find hidden profundities as they imagine the mosaic of their era one strange and wonderful tale at a time.
“Vowell is and will continue to be one of the more important voices of her generation.” —The San Francisco Chronicle
“David Rakoff says all the nasty things we want to hear and then reveals that, actually, it’s all about love.” —Ira Glass

My friend Kiley (center) is in a fantastic band (no really, I actually like them for their music in addition to the fact that they’re my friends) called Lovers Muggers & Thieves. They’re playing a show this Saturday (2/2/08) at the Beachcomber in Quincy. I’ll be there.
Go check them out on Myspace: Lovers Muggers & Thieves.
