How do you (net)work?

What social media networking sites do you use? Which is your favorite? How do you use it (for fun, for business or for both)? What is the best thing that has come out of using one of these sites – reconnected with a long lost friend, got a new job?
I use a whole army of these sites, most notably Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and MySpace (though MySpace is my least favorite and I hardly ever actually use it.)
I’ve used all of those to stay in touch with friends and family from all over and been offered everything from a few jobs to a really horrible sounding date. The range of uses (or misuses) is pretty incredible. I know I’m a little behind on the “Awe Factor” of everything you really can do for yourself or your business with these sites. I’ve basically been up to my eyes in reading about all this stuff. (and new material is always welcome!)
Don’t forget to use the links above to add or follow me!

I know I have used it for business and for personal. MySpace has brought people from my past, both good and bad, into my life. I haven’t had much time to play on Twitter lately, but I mean – where else can you have a convo with someone you might not normally meet in the day to day. I am not much of a facebook fan and LinkedIn is a great resource for networking (and reconnection).
I haven’t gotten a new job but I have gotten PR clients from both MySpace and Linked In.

I use both twitter and facebook. Being in college, both are really just for fun and to keep in touch. Facebook is great for that- but there’s a tendency for awkward people to come back into my life through it. Other than that, it’s great.

Facebook and Myspace have been great for re-connecting with old friends. LinkedIn I don’t use much but maybe should use more. I’ve never twittered. I’ve used numerous dating sites… much to my dismay… disasterous! :)

I dont have a myspace acct but I will say it is excellent for if you are at work and say you feel like listening to Sister Christian by Night Ranger for free? You can do that on Myspace and you don’t even NEED an account! Holla.

no facebook or myspace for me, but yelp.com def helped me fill a two voids. it lets me write without any pressure and i have met some AMAZING people through yelp. although i have been going to fewer events recently (trivia, karaoke, etc), i have stayed close to a handful of people that have become part of my daily life.
yelp sponsered events like the 90’s prom tomorrow are also perks of the site:)

I’m on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, but I use Twitter and Facebook the most. Love ‘em. I had a MySpace account, but canceled it after I got on Facebook because a) all of my MySpace friends were moving over to Facebook, too and b) MySpace just made me twitchy.
