Finishing a thesis and turning 26 in the same week! If I were a betting woman I’d say someone’s liver is going to go on strike sometime around Sunday!

Hey Kadiddle, I’ll meet you at 6:00 sharp tonight where I will promptly buy you an adds. I’m just the best sister ever. …Sister? Enabler? Whatever.

Showtune Tuesday at dbar for Andy’s birthday was a time and a half. There are few places you can get together with a group of people and sing your heart out to Wicked, Little Shop of Horrors, Moulin Rouge, Cabaret, Chicago, Miss Saigon, Hairspray, etc and have everyone around you know all the words too.

Got all gussied up tonight. From head to toe: graphic black and white Marimekko mini dress from H&M, wide black patent leather belt from (the now defunct) Jasmine Sola, and black BCBG stilettos, topped off with my Gucci watch, David Yurman bangle, and, of course, the red Prada bag.

Hot date? Not quite.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDY! Hey girl hey!

My sister Kate finished her Masters Thesis this weekend, pretty official binding and all. So our regular Sunday night dinner was more of a celebration last night. After months, of quite frankly, HELL I think we are all pleased that it is O-V-E-R.

So last night I first tried to force my sister to pose with our close personal frenemy Thesis, but she refused.

This is the “I’m just going to go ahead and ignore you and text my friends. Friends who wouldn’t FORCE me to pose in a picture.” picture.

After dinner, my sis and I stayed out and moved over to the bar. Naturally to get Thesis a little drunk.

Things started out ok: Thesis decided on a beer, and sipped away. Then a few more friends showed up and Thesis got a little out of control.

Apparently Thesis has never heard the old nursery rhyme: “Liquor before beer, you’re in the clear. Beer before liquor, never been sicker…”

Eventually we just lost control of Thesis and there was no reasoning to be had.

Thesis got SLOPPY.

Eventually Kate and I had to take away Thesis’s keys, throw Thesis in the backseat of the car and roll the windows down to get home.

Kate and I had a grand evening out with friends celebrating the completion of Thesis. Thesis, on the other hand, was a hot mess:

If you’ve been a long time reader of this blog, then you know that every summer I start back up with my Jimmy Fund fundraising (Hey! I heard that groan.). If you are new readers: Oh hai. I am not above getting on my knees and begging for donations. (I’m serious.)

Basically my family is insane and we are running and participating in a number of fundraising events over the next couple of months. Next weekend my dad is riding 200 miles in the Pan Mass Challenge. Every year we fundraise and ride for someone. This year it’s 6 year old Megan Legare. She is the spitting image of my sister Kate when she was a kid, so it hits home even harder.

I designed the bike shirts this year for the team, and I made sure to design them in Megan’s favorite colors: PINK AND PURPLE. (You can thank me later, Dad. You’re going to look so pretty!) I also am in the process of making some coordinating signs for the team to show everyone all the good this fundraising can do. The signs star little Megan and Jack (who the team has gotten to know well over the years). GO JACK. Click here to see a rough first draft the sign and be guilted in to donating.

Another event we are working on (and by “we” I mean my Dad planned and organized it, and I got the job of creating all the signage for) is our Annual Jimmy Fund Golf Tournament. It’s August 13th and open to the public. Are you a golfer? Want to play? Shoot me an email and I’ll give you the details and sign up info. There are lots of goodie giveaways and a party after with Emcee Butch Stearns from Fox 25.

And finally, (the part where I really ask you to click and donate), my whole family is doing the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk again (I’ve lost track of how many years we’ve done this as a family … I want to say 8? I could be wrong though.).
