Terrible or Genius?

The first Monday night and Tuesday morning of every month, my gym has “Pizza Night” and “Bagel Morning”. Pizza Night is especially crazy – all you can smell in the gym WHILE YOU’RE WORKING OUT is pizza. They might as well dangle slices in front of all the treadmills (although with all the grease dripping everywhere that might be some kind of hazzard).

I got to tell you, even though I’ve been going there for more than a year, I am always surprised every month to see people working out and then stuffing their faces with a pile of extra cheesey pizza. Even worse? The people who come into the gym, eat, THEN work out. UGH! Give me 5 minutes on the treadmill and I would throw up everywhere.

But really what better way to keep your clients? STUFF THEM FULL OF CRAPPY FOOD ON A REGULAR BASIS.

I am in awe at their marketing strategy and how well it seems to work. It’s a blatant trick to get people to come in to stuff their faces, and then forcing them to use their gym services, but no one seems to care? Brilliant.

Ok,this makes NO sense to me whatsoever. That kind of gym is that which encourages you to eat extra cheesy and greasy pizza after your workout. That equals not having worked out at all that day.

That’s absurd! And frankly sort of of jerk thing to do. Obviously one slice of pizza will totally negate your entire workout. I think I’d tell the staff that they’re a bunch of asses.

Wow. That would probably make me AVOID the gym at those times. I love me some pizza, and I know I wouldn’t be able to resist it. But seriously, what’s the point of working out? Weird.

um, maybe i’m the only one who can see the zen-inspired philosophy here. clearly the gym is all about keeping balance. you work out, you eat pizza. all is as it was.

do you remember in high school when we joined that gym…whatever it was called, by mickeys? we would
“work out” for like 15 minutes and then go eat pizza. ha!

haha YES I remember that, but at that time we were blessed with 16 year old metabolism. SIGH.

Haha I went to that “gym” too and took their step aerobics class. I think one or both of you took it with me.
