I have a few events coming which will require me to dress up a bit: a wedding and my 10 year high school reunion. I’d rather not buy a new dress for the wedding and I’m not sure just how dressy I’ll get for the reunion (it’s at a shitty sports bar), so of course now I’m digging through the dresses I DO have and evaluating how many times I’ve worn it, where I’ve worn it, and if it’s appropriate for either of the aforementioned events.
Of course I stumble on my purple bubble dress from Armani Exchange that I’ve worn exactly one time since I bought it nearly a year ago. It was part of last year’s winter collection, so obviously it’s sold out on the site now so I had to do a little digging to find a pic to show you.
And I stumble on a picture of Brazilian model Izabel Goulart (Victoria’s Secret model and face of Armani Exchange) wearing the dress:
So I think to myself “Yes that’s it! I will totally wear that to one of these events.”
Of course, seeing as I am not a Brazilian model and I do not have legs to here – I do not look like Izabel in that dress. No, no. I look a little more like THIS in that dress:
What can I say? I’m all class, baby.

gorgeous colour, v. royal! as for reunion-at-a-shitty-dive-bar-wear, I’d go with classy dark skinnies like ksubi or acne, and understated converse, and maybe a h/s tee, if you still have any. nothing wrong with making ‘em smell a little teen spirit…
Let me tell you a little story about my 10 year reunion.
Picture it: Pre-functioning at my house. I am in cute jeans and darling blouse. Each one of my girlfriends show up in some prom get-up.
They insist I change into a dress. I reluctantly agree.
WE ARE THE ONLY 5 GIRLS THERE IN DRESSES.
I was pissed. Those bitches still owe me.
I am newly enamored with purple but realize I own not a single clothing item with IS, in fact, purple. That must be remedied, stat.
