So let’s discuss my neck.
I know. You are thrilled. Try and contain yourselves.
So let’s say I woke up last Monday and thought to myself “Wow I slept like a jerk last night and messed up my neck.” Something that simple wouldn’t still hurt like hell NOW right? A week later? And it hasn’t gotten even a little better?
I can’t move, I can’t drive, and most importantly, I can’t SLEEP. Ibuprofen and aspirin can’t touch the pain, no matter what dose or how regularly I take it.
I don’t think this is just a case of sleeping funny. I’m fairly certain I broke my neck or something.
HALP?*
*Yeah, yeah I know “GO TO THE DOCTOR.” but you see, that requires missing work and being annoyed. Being a complainy stubborn asshole on the internet seems to work for me right now.

Please don’t go to the gym.
Ditto Ulli’s comment.
Also, when I’m feeling too stubborn to go to the doctor (which never lasts longer than a day given my last big health incident) I ALWAYS consult WebMD. I’m assuming by now you’ve done that, but maybe check again, just to put off calling the doctor a few more minutes. ;-)
i would nix the gym, but you are probably too stubborn to do that. what i wonder is, are you doing ab exercises (like crunches) by pulling up on your neck? i know that’s kind of a 7th grade gym class injury, but it could explain making a bad thing worse.
As stubborn as I typically am about these things, I’ve been a total fatass and haven’t been to the gym since last Tuesday! I’m in so much pain I couldn’t go to the gym even if I wanted to! So even if I had pulled something at the gym, it’s still been A WEEK.
I canceled my session with my trainer for tomorrow.
And you’ll all be happy to hear (or at least Sarah will be happy to hear), I called my doctor’s office. They told me I’m an idiot and to get my butt in there tomorrow.
Finally!
(hamster on a piano!)
HOT DOG!
TEAR
hot dog (watch me eat)!
Does “Being a complainy stubborn asshole on the internet” help with the pain? ;)
Good you got an appointment for tomorrow. Seriously.
Back when I pulled a muscle in my chest, the doc told me to triple dose on Advil before bed. Works almost every time for me, althoug as I get older, it’s more like triple dose Aleive.
I’ve pulled the muscles in my neck more than once – every time it’s taken about 2 months to get back to normal. It really sucks.
Finally!! I;m glad you’re going! You probably pinched a nerve or something. Hope it goes well, I have to go to the doctor’s today too. DOC PAHTY!!
