I turn 30 on December 24 of this year. Here is a list of things I want to complete by or before that date.
WORK {6}
1: Update my resume.
2: Design a portfolio page with the work I’ve done for some of my top clients.
3: Finish the site/social media presence for a Mastering Studio I’ve been working on. (This will launch officially in first quarter — I’ll link when it does.)
4: Create a working LinkedIn Group for my company and actual get some group participation.
5: Make an Etsy store for all the photos/illustrations I’ve made to sell.
6: Set up and get the PCMA’s New England Chapter’s social media up and running. UPDATE: Was contacted to do this and when I sent back emails containing all of the information I’d need back from them to proceed, I never heard back. I attempted contact three times and had to give up on this one.
MONEY {5}
7: Get all my accounts in order (I have money in a dead account to move over and set up with direct deposit.) (This is not hard and is just me being lazy.)
8: Reinvest the money I’ve made in one stock and one mutual fund. Now is the time to be a little more risky.
9: Pay off my car. YES!!!!!
10: Pay off HALF of the remaining balance of my student loans. (KIDS? BE NOT A FOOL LIKE ME — GO TO PUBLIC STATE SCHOOLS.)
11: Cut my current cost of living down by 25%.
EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT {4}
12: Get Google Analytics Certified.
13: Attend ASAE’s Community Manager courses at the annual meeting in LA in August.
14: Become more active in the member communities of the Associations I belong to.
15: Take a class in video editing/production – simple stuff/basic skills – youtube worthy.
HOME {7}
16: Buy a new bed (and mattress).
17: Find a new solution for organizing mail/assorted paperwork.
18: Host a wine pairings party.
19: Figure out a suitable solution for a workspace.
20: Donate/trash all the stuff I put in storage as an experiment. I haven’t missed it at all.
21: Make more art for the walls.
22: Actually find a long term living solution.
FUN/MISC. {8}
23: Start the Coastal Wine Trail.
24: Actually ride my bike to and from work.
25: Learn how to make a proper espresso shot on the Rancilio
26: Learn how to make a turkey chili. That tastes GOOD.
27: Make a painting with my friends. One canvas, lots of paints, everyone helps.
28: Make a video with my Grandfather documenting his time in WWII before he forgets.
29: Host Blogtoberfest.
30: Have a cocktail and/or meal at all the “Best of Boston” winners (click to see my progress)

When you go to the Squealing Pig get the Mars Bar Toastie. You’re welcome.
i’m all for this list!
i turn 30 on friday (yikes) perhaps i should have started my own list a few months back…
this is a very inspiring concept – thanks for sharing.
Not that you asked, BUT – i would HIGHLY recommend checking out the Chili For A Crowd recipe in the “The Silver Palate Cookbook” (p. 130). I think you could easily modify the recipe with great success – (think of using a spicy turkey sausage in addition to regular ground turkey).
@Nicole – WILL DO.
@Alexa: Do a “30 in my 30th Year” list! (And link me to it!)
@Hippittee – I will DEFINITELY check that out. I’ll let you know how it goes!
Bella Luna – I opt out of. Everything else, I am on board! Ps. I have used my office 3 times, you are welcome to it. :-p work on art for my walls too, thanks.
Finally – xoxoxox I can’t wait to drop you this year too! Maybe I will fracture the other arm this year, and I will walk around like the Ken Doll I’ve always wanted to be forever!
Try Tryst in Arlington center. Best Burgers!!!
I love lists. And you, of course.
Love it! I actually have a 30 in my 30th year list. Maybe I’ll post it!
Put the grandfather project at the top of the list. Those are the types of things that can change in a blink. I had to google “Google Analytics Certification,” so now that’s on MY list. I loved the idea of the “friends creating a work of art” project. Hope you see that one through.
I do think (one of ) the key(s) to good turkey chile is a crockpot!
lets get burgers and fries at radius!!!
I have the turkey chili recipe! I have it, I have it!
heh awesome list. i should one together for myself as i only have 2 yrs to go before im 30. ;P
I like the “start the coastal wine trail”
Here’s my take:
