‘Cold’ is not even the word

From today’s Boston Globe:

The National Weather Service is warning of hazardous weather, saying that wind chills of zero through minus-10 will persist through the morning.

Let’s just say my walk to the subway was really, really awesome. Really.

Now I’m at work, trying to figure out if I’ve just not thawed completely or if this office has no heat.

And suddenly, a few minutes ago, I realized exactly what I need:

Warmmi USB Heating Gloves, $19.00
***USB Heating Gloves Fleece Wool Gray***
Now with these special new USB heating gloves, you can keep your hands warm and control your PC and play games more nimble in cold winter. It designs safety, charging by USB port and made of fleece, very soft. It can keep your hands warm in cold winter.

Features:
* Plug and play with USB port
* Made of soft fur
* No need to install software

These are so ridiculously unnecessary and high atop the nerd scale and yet, I want them now (mostly because my hands feel like two giant paws … that are frozen solid).

Why didn’t I think of this before Santa came into town?

    As I sit here FINALLY home with the radiators clacking at me, I think about today’s heat wars at the office, the defiant way in which the little car refused to remote start from the office window (that’s a bad thing if it remains cold), the frozen slurry of Gatorade that I slugged down after driving 70 minutes, and the cool gifts I got for xmas.

    I’m also wondering if I have to buy a four-port USB hub for when I buy those gloves.

    Welcome back. Happy New Year!
