A Very Tasty Evening

Last night after work I was Somerville bound to attend a lovely party in honor of The Tasty Show’s 5th anniversary. (The Tasty Show is Dana Zemack’s project - you may remember her as the chocolate girl from Blogtoberfest. Someday I promise we will host a party for all of you. We talk about it all the time still.)
Dana’s Tasty Show event was at Grand in Union Square. I have to be honest, I googled this place SO much prior to the event and I could not find them online. I got the URL from the tags on the clothing I was admiring … which is a shame because this store/space is worth knowing about and visiting. (Go get optimized guys!) They opened in January and sell an assortment of clothing, pillows, cards, dinnerware, etc. They are amazing and closed down shop for this private event.
The event was a tasting of a variety of tasty things (of course!). Things that were paired up for optimum deliciousness: cupcakes and beer and also cheese and beer. (Cupcakes from Kickass Cupcakes in Davis Square - and they truly WERE kickass, beer from Mercury Brewing Company in Ipswich, MA, and cheese from Shy Brothers Farm in Westport Point, MA.)
Who knew cupcakes and beer would be so tasty?! And typically you hear of “cheese and WINE” - but again - cheese and beer! Who knew!? Well, Dana of course. That girl is a taste master.
There was a lovely mix of people at the event and I think I speak for everyone in saying that Dana did an amazing job putting the whole thing together.

It all looks fabulous! The CBC does a beer and cheese pairing that is ridiculously yummy.

What a fun event! And I love the mojito cupcakes from Kickass Cupcakes. I have to literally make myself not get off at Davis each night and run down the street for them — especially after a long day of office tedium.
