I’m glad I hit the gym this morning, because now I just feel like hitting my pillow.

Today I was rear-ended (I was stopped at a red light. The person behind me apparently didn’t feel like stopping. I’m fine, it’s fine.). Then I had to run around my office/the city like a maniac to make a certain project HAPPEN. Then I had to cab it to my other office to make a meeting (that seemed to last forever and was in a FREEZING, and I mean FREEZING conference room) … and that brings us to now.

I am drawing a blogging blank. So instead of boring you with statements like “What’s with the AC?!” or “This weather. UGH.” or “My car. WAAHHHH.”, I’ll leave you with a photo I stole from Miss Fabulous from this weekend. It is what I would like to be doing now. And probably what I will be doing in … oh 45 minutes.

I love stealing Ulli's photos

Don’t we look like two little devils. RAWR.

Also before I go - details are coming together for Boston Blogtoberfest ‘08. I’m going to check out some venues and hit up some sponsors this week. If you are a company or an individual who is interested in sponsoring, please shoot me an email: jenny@alleyesonjenny.com!

08.08.08

I love that date.

Today is Friday. I have worked basically double work days every day this week (regular work, then Jimmy Fund stuff). Oh and last night, the following happened:

I woke up at 1:13 am because the high school boy who lives next door to me was trying really hard to break up with his high school girlfriend. She wouldn’t let him. So he started screaming. Then it started raining. HARD. And lightening. A LOT. And thundering. REAL LOUD.

I thought the world was ending.

Then something happened. We assume the house a few down from my apartment got struck by lightening? Or maybe it was just a weird fire coincidence. Either way my street got closed off. Four fire trucks, one rescue truck, an ambulance and a bunch of cop cars sirened their way into my neighborhood and stuck around fixing the situation until …. lord knows when.

Fire in Dorchester

During this, all the nosy neighbors made camp on my front porch. And stayed there. Until ….. well last I looked it was 4:00 am.

So today, my brain is fried. Luckily my friend Mike (Who made the blog? YOU made the blog!) introduced me to Cyber Rentals. A group of us have been swapping links back and forth half-joking, half-serious about renting a castle in Vegas, or a villa Thailand, or something as equally amazing.

Seriously. Go look at this and try to go back to your regularly scheduled work day.

Yeah. Give it a few clicks, you’ll be addicted and crunching numbers in no time too.

Thanks Mashable crew. That was one heck of a party.

Last night, business cards in hand, I headed over to The Roxy for Mashable’s SummerMash Boston. (Wow, enough links for you? Don’t worry this party hasn’t even STARTED yet.)

I revisited with some old friends, caught up with some new ones, and, best of all, met a number of new, fantastic people. (”What, no links in that sentence?” you say. OH JUST YOU WAIT.)

Wait for it ….

Wait for it ….

Here’s a bunch of super great people I chatted with last night:

Pete from Mashable (*swoon* I told him last night that I posted a pic of the two of us and said he was my boyfriend. I think I scared him with my screwed up brand of humor. Sorry Pete. I’d be scared too.), Ariel Diaz from YouCastr, Karen Hartline and Brett Petersel also from Mashable, Rebecca Corliss and Amanda Gravel from Shift Communications (Amanda, who by the way, won the pass to SXSW Interactive that I wanted. Lucky!), Saul Colt from Freshbooks (who was SO hilarious I couldn’t even stand it), Sooz (who’s pictures I can’t WAIT to see!), Laura Fitton aka Pistachio from Pistachio Consulting, Marcel Moreau, Will Pate from VenCorps (who had on the best shirt last night!), Erica O’Grady from Peanut Butter Media, Gradon Tripp, Jen Myronuk, Christine Perkett and Lisa Dilg from Perkett PR, Liz Page (finally!), Joe Casico (again!), Dana Zemack from ZemackPR (I missed her!), …. and many others who I’m sure I’m forgetting but certainly don’t mean to.

Here’s hoping they all remember me as a classy broad they’d like to associate with much more in the future …. and not some chick throwing back free tequila who forced everyone who was still at the Roxy at 11:00 pm to go to sing karaoke with a big loveable drag queen - even if I was totally that girl too. (Yup when the party was over I dragged everyone over to Jacques Cabaret for some TechKaraoke Boston.)

Ok. I think I’ve supplied you all with enough links to get you through the winter. While you work on those, feel free to enjoy some pics from last night …

Welcome to this crazy world, kid.

After 48.5 hours of labor, she’s finally here. Good work Tina (and I guess you too Jim. HA.)

She’s gorgeous.

Things You’ll Never Hear in a “Straight” Bar

“GIRL! You are looking FIERCE tonight!” (Man to a man.)

“Go ahead. Touch my butt!” (Man to a girl.)

“I wish I had the legs for that mini dress. Sigh.” (Man to a woman.)

“Ohh give me that yummy gin lemonade drink with extra fruit. HAY!” (Man.)

“I LOVE showtunes.” (Everyone.)

Showtune Tuesday at dbar for Andy’s birthday was a time and a half. There are few places you can get together with a group of people and sing your heart out to Wicked, Little Shop of Horrors, Moulin Rouge, Cabaret, Chicago, Miss Saigon, Hairspray, etc and have everyone around you know all the words too.

Here’s a few pics and video if I need to further convince you locals to head over to dbar …

B'tree represent!

Danielle, Me, Sarah, and birthday boy Andy … I’ve known these people for decades (plural).

Me and the Girls!

Me (looking a little Tranny-ish) with the South End crew. GIRLS!

Me and me five years ago.

Believe it or not, about a decade ago, this was me. Red hair? Check. Pearls? Check. Cat ears? Check.

Ryan: Showtune Tuesday DJ

This is Showtune Tuesday VJ/DJ Ryan trying to look official as I crash his booth. I went to high school with Ryan which makes it my right to crash his booth.

And finally … Vide-oh!
(Note: these are all REALLY dark. The lighting in dbar is ROMANTIC. And by romantic I mean not conducive to video taking … and probably for good reason.)

A really crappy dark “vlog” from the beginning of the night.

A couple drinks in singing some Moulin Rouge …

And finally … you try to not dance and bop around while listening to this little ditty.
